Lyn David

Lyn was diagnosed with Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma in April 2017. Initial symptoms were right pleuritic chest pain and mild shortness of breath and diagnosis was based on radiological investigations and pleural fluid cytology. The right sided pleural effusion was managed by drainage and talc pleurodesis via an Indwelling Pleural Catheter in May 2017. Lyn has not been regarded as a candidate for a clinical trial or as requiring chemotherapy to date, with management consisting of regular surveillance and exercise. Lyn is a physiotherapist and has been working in Clinical Governance and ICT Patient Safety for the past twelve years. She is married with two daughters and three grandchildren and has recently stopped work, enjoying more time with her family and friends.
