Dr Jonathan Mark Tibballs

I completed my medical training at the Royal Free Hospital Medical School in Hampstead, London, and subsequently undertook my Radiology training at the same institution. Having completed a Fellowship in Interventional Radiology and MRI at Royal Perth Hospital in 1996 I returned to the Royal Free and was appointed as a Consultant Interventional Radiologist in 1998. I migrated to Australia October in 2005 and was appointed Consultant Radiologist at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, which houses the WA State Cancer Centre and WA State Liver Transplant Centre. In January 2007 I transferred 2 sessions to Fremantle Hospital, and these have subsequently transferred to Fiona Stanley Hospital as of February 2015. I work as an Interventional Radiologist with my main areas of interest lying in interventional oncology, including thermal ablation of liver and renal tumours, trans-arterial therapy including SIRT & TACE, portal and hepatic vein embolisation and biliary intervention. I continue my interest in imaging, particularly liver MRI, and intervention in relation to liver transplantation, with a particular interest in TIPS. I have authored 4 book chapters and over 50 peer-reviewed publications.
